"My Husband Abandoned Me And Our Baby After Stealing N500,000 From Me" - One-Legged Hawker

A One-Legged Hawker has been trending since yesterday ever since her pictures hit the internet and a lot of people have been touched to help and assist her in any little way they can.

She was recently called for an interview by Punch News and in this interview she narrated her story. Life has really not been fair to the young lady as she said she lost her leg in 2006 after an accident which claimed the life of everyone in the vehicle, her parents included.

Her name is Mary Daniel.

Mary was just 10 years old when this happened. Years later her grandmother, who she started living with after the accident introduced her to a man who wants to marry her. Little did she know that he was up to no good.

She said that she got pregnant and even before pregnancy, she was the one footing all the bills in the house with her business of Hawking sachet water on the streets.

As if this wasn't enough, her husband stole N500,000 from her after he found out she had such an amount of money in her possession. He stole the money and ran away abandoning the young lady and their baby.

How did she get N500,000 and what was the money for?

Mary explained that she got the money through a good Samaritan who gave it to her after she told him her predicament and what led her to hawk on the streets because he asked. He gave her the N500,000 to help her start up a good business as her Hawking on the streets with one leg was dangerous.

As she was narrating how her husband absconded with the huge sum of money, tears filled her eyes and she cried. Indeed it was really touching.

She said that when he found out she had that amount, he was furious and started asking her why she never told him. He woke up very early the next morning and took her phone and ATM.

According to her, after he stole the N500,000 and left her and their baby, she has not seen or heard from him ever since and he doesn't care to know about their welfare either. So she has since continued struggling on the streets of Lagos to survive as she sends money back to her grandmother to care for her baby.
