Music is one of the factors that bring solace to most Nigerians amid all the challenges facing the country. Nigerian Musicians are really doing a lot to promote culture, values and peace in the land. As some of them are making fortunes in their chosen field of music, they are also giving back to society.
Imagine a situation whereby music is not available as a means of profession as we now have it, what would have been the lot of countless people who are making their living from it at the moment. Music is life to those who understand the important role and impact it is making in the life of humanity.
Two major Nigerian popular musicians went viral a few hours ago for doing what they know how to do best. The duo of David Adeleke popularly known as Davido and the tunga Gospel Maestro Yinka Ayefele also popular for being the owner of a popular radio station called Fresh FM in Ibadan, shared same stage in Abeokuta.
The talking point of the event was the part at which Davido also known as Omo Baba Olowo (OBO) splash a huge some of money on the main musician on stage Yinka Ayefele. The money was later equivalent to be the sum of One Million naira. Though Davido was not the musician on stage but he came to grace the occasion in the company of his team and he went straight to the stage as Ayefele sings while he (OBO) dance along.
At some point, Ayefele in his usual style handed over the microphone to Davido who sang some of his popular tunes to the admiration of the audience who hails with a loud ovation.
This article is particularly written to submit an opinion that would be a record-making event if actualized by the people involved.
Davido is a well-established hip-hop artiste of International repute whose achievements are the prayer points of those looking up to him. He is very rich in cash and kindness towards humanity. Davido has helped countless of people to climb the ladder of success especially in the music industry.
On the other hand, Yinka Ayefele is also a household name in the Gospel music industry. Apart from singing, Ayefele is also into broadcasting as he do present programmes on his radio station Fresh 105.9 FM Ibadan. Just like Davido, Ayefele is also a philanthropist who has helped a lot of people to come to the limelight especially in the music industry.
Looking at this latest development between the duo, one can begin to think positively in a different direction. Davido and Ayefele do different genres of music but they were able to share the same stage even without prior knowledge and they were able to blend well. Now, what should stop the two from doing a collaboration with a single in the nearest future? At least this will bridge the seeming gap between hip-hop and gospel music. This if eventually becomes a reality will be first of its kind especially with a calibre of musician like Davido.
What is your thought about this submission? Is it possible for Davido to do a collabo with a gospel singer like Ayefele? Is this not going to be great?
