This year's Big Brother Naija Show had the least recorded viewers in history when compared to the previous shows. The popularity of the show greatly dropped this year due to unclear reasons but I will suggest some of my proposed reasons in this article and I would also like to hear the opinions of my viewers.
Firstly, I believe this year's housemates didn't give the viewers what they needed. The housemates are meant to supply the viewers with constant drama and entertainment but this year was different. Compared to last year's show which had popular housemates such as Laycon, Dorathy, Nengi and others. Last year had the 'vibe' everyone wanted to feel but unfortunately this year was considered boring by the viewers.
Secondly, due to last year's Covid-19 lockdown people had the time to constantly watch last year's show. The popularity of the BBN show last year greatly increased due to this reason. People needed some form of entertainment and the BBN show was able to give people that entertainment. Last year was recorded to be the most entertaining and had the most respected housemates.
Lastly, due to low influence of brands sponsoring the show, the popularity greatly reduced but the viewers also hope that next year's show would be better and more entertaining than this year's show.
