For over a decade, the Gulder Ultimate Search TV show aired on our television screens captivating hearts with its thrilling displays, collections, intriguing display as well as daring contestants who participated in the show.
The show made its debut in 2004, garnering mainly positive reviews from fans and critics alike and featured about a dozen acclaimed editions before it was suspended abruptly few years ago.
The fan-favourite reality TV show is a survival type reality show which showcased the struggles and perseverance of contestants usually about 10-30 persons.
The contestants are expected to juggle different daunting tasks as they struggle against themselves and the wild in their search for a hidden treasure which would bring the winner instant fame and fortune.
Past winners of the reality show have gone on to become instant celebrities making their names heard in their respective fields. Before the show was suspended, it featured a celebrity edition which saw versatile Nigerian actor, Emeka ike emerged winner.
Different venues are usually used as locations for each series and contestants are required to be fit, healthy and also possess ability to preserve as well as pull through difficult terrains, such as navigating through the wild, wading through waters and the likes.
Some of the venues to have been used include Snake island in Lagos, Obudu hills in Cross river, Shere hills, Jos, Omodo forest of Aagba in Osun state e.t.c
Unfortunately, during the fourth edition of the Gulder Ultimate Search reality show, a contestant name Anthony Ogadje drowned in a lake in Jos, Plateau state during the shoot.

Past winners of the show include Ugo Egwuagwu, Lucan Chambliss, Emeka Ike, Chris Okagbue among others. in 2004, Ugo Egwuagwu made history as the first winner of the show and was awarded the star prize of 3 million naira.
The last winner of the reality show before it was suspended is Chinedu Ubachukwu. He was rewarded with 10 million naira and a brand new Ford Explorer car.
The suspension of the show came as an unexpected news to fans, lovers as well as followers of the show who questioned why such an interesting and intriguing show had to be stopped.
At that time, the organizers of the show also did not give any explanation on why the show was suspended. However, in late 2019, the Corporate Affairs Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mrs Sade Morgan stated that the show was rested due to cost while also revealed plans to return the show back to TV screens.
Meanwhile, in a related development, the reality TV show returned with repeat episodes of past seasons on April 29, 2020. Although, it is a rerun of previous episodes themed around the show's past seasons, fans are already excited and hopeful of the reality show kicking off fully in no distant time.
