P Square Reunion: Did Fans Really Contribute To Break Up Of Musical Group?

Blood is always thicker than water. Despite everything that has happened between Paul and Peter of the defunct Psquare music group, there are indications that the duo has made a conscious effort to settle their differences. That is because of the bond of brotherhood. No matter how a relationship can get ugly, there is always a chance for both sides to come back to the table. The duo has taken the first positive step towards reconciliation after they started following each other again on Instagram. But then again, was the Psquare fight caused by the fans?

Recall that the twins Peter and Paul went their separate ways in 2017, dumped the name Psquare and changed their stage names to Rudeboy and Mr. P, following several reports that Peter opposed Jude, their brother, to be involved in their dealings. Jude, until that time, was their manager. A year before the breakup, a disagreement followed after Peter claimed that one party of the group received more input of songs in their joint albums. Other reports suggest that Lola Okoye, the wife of Peter Okoye, was the brain behind their breakup.

In my honest opinion, fans contributed greatly to their breakup. It all started when fans began comparing the duo. Some fans were of the opinion that Paul aka Rudeboy is the singer and the brain behind their success, while Peter aka Mr. P was only but a dancer. In order to examine their individual prowess, fans added more fuel to the fire and the misunderstanding the duo was working hard to resolve, this eventually led to their breakup in 2017.

However, Peter had on many occasions blasted the fans for making comparisons, as Mr. P feels that it was among the reasons why the Psquare music group was dissolved. It is ironic that the same fans who wanted to see Psquare back were the same vital ingredient that triggered the breakup of the group, as was mentioned by Peter in several interviews.

Living in the spotlight means having a thick skin for criticism and knowing how to weather the storm when public opinion swings against you.
