Despite the [email protected], Adult swim decided to hold its very own convention via Twitch, with co-creator of Rick and Morty, Dan Harmon and some cast members all beaming in via webcam for the show's very own panel.
In the panel, the show posted a crudely sketched video of a scene from season 5, giving us a first glimpse of the genius and disturbed inventor and his grandson's latest adventures together.
The scene from the video released shows Rick and Morty narrowly escaping some sort of giant alien monster being by flying through a closing portal, only for their ship to be damaged in the process and leave them trying to survive getting to earth.
Having decided they're going to die( not that death really is an issue with Rick's countless contingency plans and numerous clones of both of them), Morty however gives his crush Jessica a quick call to confess his feelings towards her.
In addition, when she surprisingly admits she wanted him to say something sooner, and now would like to go on a date with him, Morty decides life is worth living after all and miraculously manages to crash land the spaceship in the sea.
And it's then we're introduced to Rick's supposed 'nemesis' Mr Nimbus, a pathetic Aquaman kind a fellow who emerges from water in a giant clam.
It's hard to say how much of this scene will change before the new season arrives, but what we know for certain is that Mr Nimbus will most likely become everyone's new favorite annoying character.
The show bosses are working hard to ensure the wait for new episodes won't be as long as the gap between season 3 and 4.
