Recently, the Afro beat queen Tiwa Savage made a shocking revelation in an interview on The Angie Martinez Show. She told Angie that an unknown person is trying to blackmail her, threatening to release a video of an intimate session she had with her boyfriend, if the blackmailers demands are not met.
However, Tiwa Savage had refused to give into the demands of her blackmailer. She stated that if she gives in to the pressure from her blackmailer, it might turn out to be a steady source of extortion from the person.
Following the revelation of Tiwa Savage's interview, here are two reasons why I think she had successfully disarmed her blackmailer;
1) Refusing To Give In To Her Blackmailer's Demands
The Afro beat queen had refused to give in to the demands of her blackmailer, frankly stating that, "No one can blackmail me for doing something that is natural to humans."
Blackmailers strive in creating shocking moments into the minds of their victims to create a steady channel of extortion from them. When victims rises above the shock, it disarms the blackmailer because there will be no ransom to be paid.
2) The Blackmailer Might Be Discovered
Tiwa Savage is a public figure in Nigeria, she is loved by people from all walks of life. Therefore, bringing her blackmail to the public might prompt capable hands to take up the matter and discover the face behind the blackmail.
There is nothing hidden under the sun, so the fact that her blackmailer had reached out to her, no matter how good the person might be in trying to cover his or her tracks, the person can be discovered and will be made to face the full weight of the law.
I think this is a lesson for us, instead of giving in to the demands of any blackmailer we should find ways to disarm them, if not, someone might turn out to be a pawn in their games.
