Ned Nwoko, a former House of Representative member and philanthropist has just sued to court a UK based journalist and online publisher, Azuka Jobose Molokwe and Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko who was identified as the employer and sponsor of the first defendant, according to report Ned Nwoko demanded the sum of N2billion from the defendants for defamation of character.
According to the case, the two defendants wrote defamatory posts on several online blogs and other social networks in order to “downgrade the applicant” and deny his reputation to the public.
It is alleged that the malicious publication continues despite a warning from the defendant’s lawyer against the plaintiff. Nwoko's lawyer also said that the first defendant appeared on social media, and that a warning would not prevent the publication of libel and would not lead to legal action.
Ned Nwoko also demand court orders for his request to “apologize for the charges brought by at least two national newspapers distributed on Nigerian platforms and social networks” as well as perpetual injunctions restraining the defendants from ever making any defamatory publications that will tarnish his image.
