Ever wondered why the popular quote on how that forgiveness is the greatest revenge is still enjoying relevance with regard to how it has affected human lives? I'll tell you without a charge. It is so because it makes our humanity complete.
Before you read any further, please note that this is Techlord's personal opinion and it is not binding on anybody or anything. Again, it is not even designed to influence justice or to demean the efforts of those working hard to fix culpability and restore sanity in the society. Rather Techlord has opined that it is still wisdom if the world tampers justice with mercy. Because in doing so, the bad, the ugly can be turned to good. After all, the wise men of the east believe that if we kill because of wrath, we bury because of the stench. Such can be alluded to our frenzy and such can be alluded to our fury.
The story of the Nigerian born Dubai based big boy, Raymond Abbas has become a household cautionary tale. The media projects it, bloggers are feeding off from it, people keep chanting it everyday like a broken record and so, it does not need a recap here. But rather the emphasis is on his release with reference to what his lawyer has stated as regards the reason he should be granted bail.
However, my opinion is influenced by what Hushpuppi's lawyer, Gal Pissetzky considered for granting him bail. According to the lawyer, his client is an Instagram celebrity who earns a living by posing with high-priced items such as Gucci, Luis Vuitton and others. He maintained the fact that he is loved and respected, he is a celebrity, he is an influencer.
Techlord does not want to look at the fact that Hushpuppi's crime is still referred to as an alleged offence and until verdict says otherwise, it remains an alleged offence. So in terms of where he missed it, let mercy precede judgement.
In conclusion, please he who is without a sin, be the first to throw the first shot. Thanks.
