Meet Nigerian music legend Ebenezer Obey's grandson who picked up his award at the Headies

The 14th edition of the Headies Awards was held on Sunday, February 21, at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos.

The award ceremony, which was hosted by TV personality, Nancy Isime, and comedian, Bovi, had limited attendees due to the imposed COVID-19 restrictions.

The biggest winner of the night was Fireboy DML, who clinched five awards and went on to equal the records of Wande Coal and Psquare (Peter and Paul & Okoye) for the most wins in a single night.

However, one of the recipients for the night caught the attention of many after he revealed his identity to the audience and viewers.

Nigerian music legend Chief Ebenezer Obey nicknamed the "Chief Commander" was inducted into the Hall Of Fame for his outstanding impact in the entertainment industry at the Headies award. His grandson, Timss Obey, accepted the award on his behalf.

Timss Obey is fast rising afro-pop singer/rapper and a student of the University Of Lagos, UNILAG.

He is 21 years old.

After discovering his love for music at the age of 14, he started a music label named Detty Boys.

His song, Monalisa, released in 2017, is one of the most heard in UNILAG.
