There is a bit of bad news on COVID-19 as the world loss yet another top personality to the deadly virus.
Egyptian and world renowned movie star Ragaa al-Geddawy died on Sunday after contracting the COVID-19 disease.
According to reports confirmed by actors union, she died at the age of 81 on Sunday.
The head of the actor union Ashraf Zaki confirmed this AFP with this statement;
“Ragaa al-Geddawy passed away this morning due to COVID-19,” he said
“No public funeral was arranged for health reasons.”
Local media confirmed that she tested positive for the virus in May and was treated in an isolation centre located in Ismailia province 130 kilometres (80 miles) east of Cairo.
The veteran actor acted in over 380 films, plays and television shows alongside some of the biggest names in Egyptian movie industry.
