2021 Event Calendar: See Some Of The Events That Will Take Place This Year 2021

So many this happened in 2020 which has made some people be in expectations of the new year wanting it to come as quickly as possible.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, 2020 became a year many major events was cancelled for the first time.

Major award shows found new ways to hold their events without fans including sporting events.

But now 2021 has appeared with a special brand of events people are expecting to see happen.

After 2020 sporting calendar for sports was restricted, it's like things could come back to normal.

For instance, the 32nd Olympic Games supposed to happen in Tokyo will now hold from 23 July, 2021 to 8th August.

Also Wimbledon also was restricted this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was planned to hold on the 28th of June with plans that by 11th of July they will hold men's finals.

And not forgetting boxing, that was suppose to run the first unification match of it time as Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury were suppose to face each other, however terms and agreement still are still going on.

One of the most interesting elections Africans are looking forward to is the Ugandan elections Yoweri Museveni is currently running for his 6th term in office and his opposition is a musician and politician Bobi Wine who has faced arrest numerous times at the lead up to the election.

Another interesting election is the Ethiopian parliamentaries that was postponed in 2020 due to coronavirus. Eyes are wild open if the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed could maintain power after all the problems at the Tigray region.

Libya currently are on ceasefire from October over the ruling of the country who agreed to hold elections in December what remains is to see if the elections will lead to more violence.

Other elections coming are; Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Chad, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Gabon, The Gambia, Morocco, Nigeri, Republic of Congo, Somaliland, South Africa, South Sudan and Zambia.

The major most predictable event is the 2021 award it shows it will continue in traditions of social distancing awards that 2020 alredy started.

But some of the shows people are looking up to is the Grammys, that Burna Boy has grabbed his second nomination on African Album of the year.

Also on the Headies, people are looking forward to see who will win the next rated and also if Nigerian stars will boycott the 2021 MTV Africa Music Awards in Uganda following the arrest of Nigerian musicians Omah Lay and Tems.
