Last week, one of the most heart-breaking stories of a beautiful young woman, who is also an amputee, went viral. Mary Daniels is a SURVIVOR but she also a WARRIOR, who was discovered on the streets of Lagos, precisely Oshodi, where she hawks sachet/bottle water, she shared her story about how she was the sole survivor of an accident that, also took the lives of her parents in 2006. The story attracted the attention of many kind hearted Nigerians, who have offered to help her, and as of today the 13th of April 2021, reports have it that Mary currently has received a donation summing up to about N14.3 million.
Remember that, many influential Nigerians have reached out to her, including the first lady of Kogi state, Mrs Yahaya Bello, Imo State lawmaker and the son in-law to Senator Rochas Okorocha (the immediate former Governor of Imo state) Honourable Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, donated a whopping sum of ₦1,000,000 (One million naira) to the survivor. Super Eagles and Napoli striker, also donated reached out to her and donated an undisclosed amount, he made this known via his Instagram story.
The Lagos State Government said she has been taken to protective custody pending the conclusion of plans to get her an apartment and start up of a business.
Remember Mary via an interview she granted BBC pidgin, she revealed that she was married off at the age of 20, to a man that did not really cared about her or their child, rather he wiped her bank account and stole about₦500,000 (Five hundred thousand naira) that was donated to her by a good Samaritan since 2020, and has since disappeared ever since.
