Joeboy is currently one of the fastest growing musicians in Nigeria and an essential genre of Afro-pop and R&B music. His greatest musical inspirations are 9ice and ID Cabasa, two Nigerian artists with whom he spent much of his time in the studio while learning his trade.
Joeboy is part of the Mr Eazi talent incubation revelation, he came into limelight with his hit single "Baby". Joeboy's crips sound and delivery has made him stand out as one of the fast rising stars from Africa.
Joeboy was also one of the 10 artists selected for a mentorship boot-camp in South Africa, and one of 2 artists who were given an additional $50,000 funds.
Fireboy DML did not take music seriously until his university days when he started performing at shows and began earning some money. And after his university education will beg to perform at shows and even paid money to be allowed to perform.
His passion for music began when he was studying at Obafemi Awolowo University. He released a single titled ”Jealous” which brought him to the limelight after he signed to YBNL Nation, a record label founded by Nigerian rapper Olamide.
Fireboy DML describes his sound as “Afro-Life” and said he writes songs that audiences can relate to. He released visuals to track 2 “vibration” on February 18, 2020.
