In Nigeria today, the Music Industry has come a long way as most of the singers are doing well for themselves and they are now recognized Internationally. Some of these musicians have decided to give acting a shot.
Here are some of the popular musicians that have starred in some Nollywood movies so far;
1. Sheyi Shay
She is known as Sheyi Shay professionally but her birth name is Deborah Oluwaseyi Joshua. She is one singer who causes quite a sensation in the music industry with her unique voice.
She featured in the 2018 movie titled Lara and the Beat, where she played the role of a spoilt rich girl. It was her debut movie.
2. Omawumi Megbele
After she participated in Nigeria Idol and released some albums, she decided to try acting too.
Omawumi has featured in these movies; She Is, Oloture, Night Bus to Lagos, and Heart of Gold, where she acted with Tuface, Yvonne Nelson, and Mercy Chinwo.
3. Banky W
Bankole Wellington is a musician who became known after his song "You are the only one for me" became a hit.
He has appeared in blockbuster movies on the big screen. The likes of Sugar Rush, Up North, and The Wedding Party, which he acted with Adesua Etomi before she became his wife.
Folarin Falana is a lawyer and a musician in Nigeria who has ventured into acting and has worked with some of the top-notch actors.
Some of his works are; Merry Men, A Couple of Days, Muna, Chief Daddy, New Money, and Quams Money (sequel to New Money), etc.
Innocent Idibia who is known as Tuface professionally is a renowned Nigerian Musician who has featured in some Nollywood movies.
They are; Heart of Gold, Make a Move, and Power of One, alongside Ramsey Noah and Alex Ekubo.
