[OPINION] Adeyinka Alaseyori and others seen on the now collapsed 21 storey building without safety guide were wrong

Recall that on Monday a 21-storey building collapsed on Gerard Road in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State. After the incident, it was discovered that many people were still trapped in the rubble, When the news was still trending, a video surfaced online, showing were gospel singer, Adeyinka Alaseyori and some other people were spotted earlier at the top of a building identified as the now collapsed building, conducting a prayer session. This raised lots of questions from people who wanted to know the whereabouts of the singer, but fortunately she is safe. It happens that they were not in the building at the time of the incident.video

According to my opinion, even though they were lucky not to be involved in that tragedy, I don’t support the act of singer Adeyinka and other people spotted praying on the top floor of the building without obeying safety measures and I encourage people to desist from that type of act. This is because they are endangering their lives. It is unsafe for people to make use of uncompleted buildings of that height without following safety measures such as wearing safety hats, goggles or safety boots. This is because there might be lots of nails, woods and unfinished edges in an uncompleted building. Also Imagine what would have become of them if they were in the building at the time of the tragic incident.

According to my observations, many people are ignorant of the actual ways to go about religion activities. I am a Christian and I believe that God does lots of miracles But at the same time, No matter how much we trust God, We are expected to follow all safety guidelines instead of putting him to test. I suggest that high storey buildings like this should have some security officials who would repel unauthorized people from accessing the building until it is declared safe and inhabitable for the public.
