The Director Army Public Relations Officer, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, has finally informed the general public that Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu, was indeed arrested and brought in for questioning.
According to Nwachukwu, the Nollywood veteran was not assaulted neither was he subjected to any form of brutalization even after he tried to resist arrest. In a video which has now gone viral across various social media platforms, Chiwetalu Agu, could be seen surrounded by so members of the Nigerian Army as he was seen wearing Biafra’s regalia.
“Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested one Chiwetalu Agu while inciting members of the public and soliciting for support for the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra. Dressed in a very well-known attire of the proscribed group, Chiwetalu Agu was picked up for questioning. Though he attempted putting up some resistance when troops made efforts to take him into custody, he was not assaulted or subjected to brutalization” Official statement from the Nigerian Army reads.

At this point, Chiwetalu Agu is yet to make an official statement as it’s still unclear if he is still at the custody of the Nigerian Army.
