Caitlin Ariana Sanchez was born January 17, 1996. She is an American actress, best known for being the second voice of the title character Dora in the Nickelodeon animated children series Dora the Explorer.
She was born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey just across the river from New York City. She is a third-generation Cuban-American. She was home-schooled her whole life, which she says helps her relate to socially-awkward characters.
She was selected from among 600 girls who auditioned for the part. She voiced the character until 2012.
Besides appearing in several national commercials, Sanchez's other TV work includes as Lupe Rojas in an episode of Law & Order: SVU , ("Uncle" 2006) and appearing as Celia, the daughter of Carlos Ponce 's character, on Lipstick Jungle. Her film work includes appearing in the film Phoebe in Wonderland.
Caitlin was nominated for two NAACP Image Awards for "Outstanding Performance in a Youth/Children's Program" and two Imagen Awards for "Best Television Actress" for her portrayal of the sweetheart preschool icon "Dora the Explorer
