A Nigeria born singer and dancer of Ghanaian and British descent popularly known as Lola Rae was born in1991. She gained recognition following the release of her debut single (Watch My Ting Go) which received critical acclaim and thus earned her a nomination for Most Promising Female Act to Watch at the 2013 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
She came to London at 16 and joined a dance group called Mr Cool. The troupe also sang, and Lola's voice was singled out when they appeared on the TV talent show, Britain's Got Talent.
After Watch My Ting Go, she earned another nomination at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards when she featured Iyanya on a song titled Fi Mi Le. She made a cameo appearance as Ice Prince's love interest in the music video for his song.
In a brief advice to upcoming artists she said, “I’ve been through so many ups and downs and one thing I have learnt is that everyone’s time frame of how things will work out and how things work out is different. Don’t give up. I have been through so many ups and downs. By now I should have given up.” Clearly she didn’t.
