3 reasons Whitemoney should focus on commercializing cooking brand instead of music

Whitemoney emerged winner of the Big Brother Naija season six show after weeks of serving viewers premium entertainment. The man born Hazel Oyeze Onou surprised many by taking charge of the kitchen from day 1 to the end of the show. Whitemoney is a hustler, he says he loves making music but this article focuses on the reasons why he should ditch music and instead build his brand as a professional chef.


1. Whitemoney sold himself to BBNaija audience with his culinary skills


Many people come to the Big Brother Naija house with different strategies. Some come with controversies like Tacha and Cee-C, some chase helplessly after another housemate like Ozo, others just enjoy romance like Kiddwaya. But few come with the strategy of cooking as a way to escape nomination for possible eviction.


Whitemoney possesses what many men do not have — the skill of cooking what even women like.


The 29-year-old wowed BBNaija viewers with his cooking skills, not his music skills. Laycon, who was gifted in music, displayed it from day one up until he won the season five edition of Africa's biggest reality TV show. Whitemoney should not deviate from what sold him to BBNaija viewers.

2. It is what he does best


Apparently, cooking is what Whitemoney does best. He is an entrepreneur who has worked many jobs to survive. Whitemoney has hawked goods, rode as a commercial motorcyclist and even worked as a barber.

However, now he has the resources to build a brand in what he knows how to do best. BBNaija fans never saw him make music, it might be foolhardy to leave what he is good at and dive into the unknown. Winning the Big Brother Naija show is not a guarantee that one will be successful in music, Efe who won season three of the show is a living testimony of that.


Whitemoney had pretended he didn't use cooking as a strategy in the house but the smart ones knew. After the show, he confessed that it was partly a strategy even though it is something he likes to do. There is no better joy than turning your hobby into a money-making venture.

3. He has the potential to commercialise it into a huge brand

An average BBNaija viewer knows that Whitemoney has the skill and wisdom to turn cooking into a successful venture. 


By building a brand around cooking, Whitemoney has the potential to monopolise ambassador role for big brands such as maggi producers, noodle makers, spaghetti producers and manufacturers of other food items.
