Opinion: Yemi Alade's Performance In London And How She Met So Many Great People In Just One Day

I do not think Yemi Alade should still be referred to as Mama Africa, this woman has pushed her music so far across the world that I would not object if anyone decides to start calling her Mama Globe or Mama World, that must be hilarious to say. Jokes aside, Yemi Alade is no more that little lady holding a microphone and trying to win her way through the Peak Talent show back in 2009.

She is now a big woman who does not have to impress a set of judges sitting across a table in a tension filled room, noting down their observations to determine if she makes it to the next round or not. She now impresses Kings and Queens around the world, who pay huge amount of money to get her service. The power of talent? You can say that again.

Yemi Alade is a talented music artiste, with over 14 million followers on Instagram, making her the only female Nigerian artistes with the highest Instagram followers, there is no doubt that she is talented. Only talent could draw so many people to an artiste. Well, the same talent took her to London to perform at the EarthShot Prize.

The EarthShot Prize is oraginsed by the royal foundation, and it is given to 5 winners each year. The award is given to people who have provided one or two solutions that have substantially helped the environment. Yes, it is a massive event and Yemi Alade was the music artiste that performed there.

While in London for the show, Yemi Alade met notable people. These people include Dame Emma Thompson, a popular British actress. Dermot O'Leary, a notable television presenter, Clara Amfo, a well-known British radio and television presenter, Ed Sheeran, one of the best singers in the World.

Yemi Alade also met with notable footballers, Mohammed Sallah and Danny Alves. She met with American actor who is of Yoruba descent, David Oyelowo, Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan and of course the celebrated Prince Williams and Duchess Kate. These are a whole lot of great people to meet in one day, and you still think Yemi Alade is still at the national level? You would be wrong to think so.

Yemi Alade's talent brought her this far, and I am sure she still has many years before her. Do not neglect your talent, it can make you meet great people in life.
