In 2020 alone, the musician has released some songs that have no doubt became an instant hit. Some of which include "Geng", "Betty Butter" and several others.
Reflecting on the issue his music career, the musician never fails to acknowledge the influence of his music godfather, Davido in his life.
It would be recalled that in 2016, Davido signed the artiste into his record label Davido Music Worldwide(DMW).
This came after Mayorkun shared a video on his Instagram handle while singing to a Davido's song "Money".
Earlier before he was singed, Mayorkun worked as as a banker in one of the popular banks in Nigeria. While many knew that Mayorkun left his bank job for music, not many knows it was a very hard decision to make.
According to Mayorkun, his parent never supported his music ambition. He disclosed that if not for Davido, he would never have quitted his bank job for music in the first place.
For him, leaving his bank job for music was a gamble and his parent were also doubtful about it. For Mayorkun, in banking, he was sure he would get paid at the end of the month no matter how little but in music, there are so many uncertainties.
For him, he just had to take the gamble and although the decision was laced with different harsh moments which made he feel like he made the wrong decision but in the end, it paid off.
