Irrespective of ones success or failure in his chosen career, one might decide to quit along the line due to several factors that may come ones way as they journey through life.

Not many have the tenacity to remain active till they become aged in their chosen career especially in the entertainment world.

However, it is worthy of commendation for the few that have been able to hold on over the years against all odds.

Onyeka Onwenu

Onyeka Onwenu is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, politician, human right activist, journalist and actress. She was born 31 January 1952. She is presently 68 years old.

She started her music career as a secular artiste at the age of 29 while she was still working at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). She released her first album For The Love Of You in 1981, and after that she released two more albums before her fourth album One Love released in 1986. The album heralded her music career because of the title track One Love which was a massive hit.

In 1988, Onwenu released another album Dancing in the Sun which was also a commercial success. She subsequently released other albums before she made a transition to gospel music in the 90s.

Away from her music, Onwenu joined the movie industry in the late 90s and she has had a successful acting career. It is notable to mention that she has also journeyed in the world of politics, having been appointed chairperson of Imo state council of Arts and Culture at one time. She was later appointed in 2013 as the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Women Development by president Goodluck Jonathan.

Onwenu has been quite vibrant in the course of her various careers which she has been successful. We have watched the elegant stallion as she is fondly called age under the spotlight.

King Sunny Ade

King Sunny Ade is a Nigerian Juju singer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist. He was born 22 September 1946. He is presently 73 years old.

He began his singing career with Moses Olaiya's Federal Rhythm Dandies, a highlife band. He later left the band at the age of 21 to form his own band The Green Spots in 1967. Due to various reasons, Ade changed the name of his band many times over the years; first it was African Beats and he then later changed it to Golden Mercury.

Ade was influenced by Tunde Nightingale whose Juju style of music he borrowed. He founded the King Sunny Ade Foundation, an organization that includes a performing Arts Centre, a state of the art recording studio and housing for young musicians.

Even though he is presently 73 years old, he has not allowed ageing to slow him down as he still performs both in Nigeria and outside the shores. We have literally watched him grow old under the spotlight in the course of his career.

Pete Edochie

Pete Edochie is a Nigerian actor who began his career as a radio broadcaster in 1967 at the age of 20. He first started as a junior programmes assistant and later was promoted to the level of a Director.

Despite his promising career in broadcasting, he however quit because the then government decided to politicise the affairs of the radio station.

In 1987, at the age of 40, Edochie came to limelight after starring in the Nigeria Television Authority(NTA) adaptation of Chinua Achebe's novel Things Fall Apart.

Ever since then, he has remained active till date in the movie industry, and we have watched his transformation and growth as he has aged over the years under the spotlight.

Kenneth Okonkwo

Kenneth Okonkwo is a nigerian actor and legal practitioner who is one of the pioneer of Nollywood. He was born 6 November 1968. He is presently 51 years old.

He started his acting career in 1992 at the age of 24 when he starred in the blockbuster Igbo language movie Living in Bondage which is the movie that brought about Nollywood.

In the movie, Okonkwo plays the role of Andy Okeke, a poor man with a beautiful loyal wife. In his desperation for wealth, he joins an evil cult where he is made to sacrifice his beloved wife for wealth.

Over the years, the veteran actor who is also a legal practitioner has starred in several movies. Though he is presently a middle aged man but it is obvious that he as aged as we have watched him over the years.

Ngozi Ezeonu

Ngozi Ezeonu is a Nigerian actress who started has a journalist before she joined the movie industry. She was born 23 May 1965. She is presently 55 years old.

In 1993, she featured in the Igbo language movie Nneka The Pretty Serpent at the age of 28. It was subsequently followed by the blockbuster movie Glamour Girls which was released in 1994, where she played the role of Thelma, a high class society lady.

At the beginning of her acting career, she played the role of a single lady because she was young. But over the years as she has aged, she now majorly plays motherly roles.

Even at the age of 55, Ezeonu is still waxing stronger till date in her career whereas many of her colleagues during her younger years have quit acting.

Ngozi Nwosu

Ngozi Nwosu is a Nigerian actress and producer. She was born 1 August 1963. She is presently 56 years old.

She began her acting career in the Yoruba genre. However, at the age of 29, she starred in the Igbo language movie Living In Bondage in 1992 where she played the second wife of Andy Okeke after he used his first wife for sacrifice. The movie instantly shot her into limelight

Over the years, the multilingual actress who is fluent in Igbo(her mother tongue), Yoruba and English language has been very active in the entertainment world till date. One of her iconic role is in the sitcom Fuji House of Commotion where she played the role of troublesome Peace, the seemingly favourite wife of Chief Fuji.

Nwosu's acting career has spanned over two decades and we have literally watched her under the spotlight from starting as a young lady to presently being a middle aged woman.
