1. Beverly Naya

Beverly Ifunaya Bassey popularly known as Beverly Naya is a British-born Nigerian actress, model, producer, scriptwriter, and entrepreneur. She’s one of the fast rising star in the Nigerian movie industry. The determined and fearless actress has received high acclaim for her work on stage, on television and in film. She’s one of the few celebrities passionate about colourism. She exhibited this in her “Skin” documentary.

Beverly Naya was born on 17 April 1989 in London, United Kingdom. She is the only child to her Nigerian parents. Beverly hails from Delta State, from Ibuzo, the Igbo speaking Delta region. She had her formal education in the UK. She studied philosophy, psychology and sociology at Brunel University, London, United Kingdom. She also studied script-writing and film-making at Roehampton University.

Beverly Naya began acting at the age of 17 while studying at the Brunel University in Uxbridge, England. She got an award for acting in college, She acted in movies and did theatre shows in the U.K.


In the U.K, Beverly did a few short films for the British Broadcasting Corporation and The Metropolitan Police. She acted in a couple of theatre productions including one by Debbie Tucker-Green, called Stoning Mary and then Psychosis and Crave.


She broke into the Nigerian entertainment scene in 2010 when she starred in the Nollywood film “Living in Exile” and has since then feature in a number of blockbuster Nollywood films. Due to the rapid growth and opportunities present in Nollywood, Beverly decided to move back to Nigeria with influence from her mum. In an interview, she cited Genevieve Nnaji and Ramsey Noah as her mentors. She’s also inspired by the works of Mo Abudu and Oprah Winfrey.

In 2011, Beverly Naya starred alongside OC Ukeje in the AMAA Award nominated hit film Alan Poza, her performance earned her another nomination for Best actress in a lead role. The dark-skinned actress has featured in quite a number of movies and series including Tinsel, Skinny girl in transit, Make a move, Forgetting June, When Love Happens, Something Wicked amongst others.

Uru Kalanwa Eke popularly known as Uru Eke is a fast rising Nollywood actress, producer, model and a television personality. She was born on 11th October 1979 in Newham, East London in the United Kingdom. She is currently 38 years old. Uru Eke is originally from Mbaise, a small village in Imo State in the south eastern part of Nigeria, but was born in Newham, East London in the United Kingdom, where she completed her primary school education.


Uru Eke had her basic education at Galleywall Infants School in London, United Kingdom and obtained her First School Leaving Certificate. After completing her primary school education, Uru Eke relocated to Nigeria to complete her secondary school education. She attended Baptist Girls College in Lagos, Nigeria and obtained her West African Senior School Certificate.

Uru Eke became very popular after playing the role of Obi in Ndani TV’s popular webseries “Rumour Has It”. She became a public figure after acting in the following Nollywood blockbuster movies like Last Flight to Abuja, Weekend Getaway and Being Mrs. Elliot, amongst others.

4. Adesua Etomi

Adesua Etomi is a popular Nollywood actress, television personality, social media personality and a model. She was born on 22nd February 1988 in Owerri, Imo State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. She is currently 29 years old. Her father is a soldier of Esan descent while her mother is an engineer of Yoruba descent.


She is the youngest of three siblings. Adesua Etomi attended Corona School in Victoria Island, Lagos and obtained her First School Leaving Certificate. While in Corona School, Adesua Etomi joined the drama club at the age of 7 years old.

After her primary school education, Adesua Etomi proceeded to Queens College in Lagos and obtained her West African Senior School Certificate. After completing her secondary school education, Adesua Etomi relocated to United Kingdom with her family.


While in United Kingdom, Adesua Etomi obtained a Diploma in Physical Theatre, Musical Theatre and Performing Arts from the City College Coventry, London, United Kingdom. After obtaining her diploma certificate in Theatre Arts, Adesua Etomi proceeded to University of Wolverhampton in United Kingdom and graduated with a first class honours degree in Drama and Performing Arts.


After completing her studies in United Kingdom, Adesua Etomi returned to Nigeria and joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) in 2014 and acted in her first movie “Knocking on the Heavens Door."


In 2016, Adesua Etomi won the Best Actress in a drama at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for her role in the 2015 romantic drama film titled “Falling” alongside with Majid Michel and Desmond Elliot.

5. Joke Silva

Joke Silva, MFR, born 29 September 1961, is a Nigerian actress, director, and businesswoman.


A graduate of the University of Lagos and the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London, Joke Silva began her career in film in the early 1990s. In 1998 she had a major role, starring opposite Colin Firth and Nia Long in the British-Canadian film The Secret Laughter of Women. In 2006, she won "Best Actress in a Leading Role" at the 2nd Africa Movie Academy Awards for her performance in Women's Cot, and "Best Actress in a Supporting Role" at the 4th Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2008 for her performance as a grandmother in White Waters.

Joke Silva is married to actor Olu Jacobs. The couple founded and operate the Lufodo Group, a media corporation that consists of film production, distribution assets and the Lufodo Academy of Performing Arts. Joke Silva is Director of Studies at the latter. Joke Silva is also the pioneer managing director of Malete Film Village, in association with the Kwara State University.


On 29 September 2014, Joke Silva received recognition as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic, one of Nigeria's National Honours, at the International Conference Centre in Abuja


She was born in Lagos into an Amaro family of four children. Her mother, Adebimbola Silva, a pioneering doctor, died in July 2015. Her father was a lawyer. Joke Silva attended Holy Child College in Lagos. At university she was part of a cultural group that included the playwright Bode Osanyin and the singer Stella Monye. Joke Silva took a year off from her studies, during which time she began working as an actress. Silva then relocated to England, studying drama at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Initially, her parents were opposed to Silva's decision to go into the theatre but they soon began to support her, happy at the success she made of her career. During a slow period of her career, she returned to school, studying English at the University of Lagos.
