The quiet village of Ndiejezie in Imo State was a bee-hive of activities as Nollywood stars, Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN and other dignitaries stormed the place to witness the committing to mother earth, the remains of veteran actor, Ernest Asuzu. The late actor slumped and died on January 26th 2021 at the age of 49.
The burial rites started on the 12th of April 2021 with a Christian wake keep at his family compound. On the 13th of April 2021, his body left the mortuary around 7am for funeral mass at his family compound.
A number of top Nollywood stars came to pay their last respect. The roll call includes Digidis Dunhill, Victor Osuagwu and a host of others. The late actor's wife couldn't hold back her tears as she said goodbye to her darling husband.

The atmosphere of the burial was a sad one but the Actors Guild of Nigeria did their best to cheer the guests as they danced and sang round the grave of Ernest Asuzu. You can watch the video Here

After Ernest Asuzu was laid to rest, a Nollywood actor Digidi DunHill shared a photo of late Ernest Asuzu only child, Victor Asuzu. Digidi DunHill who ruled the screen in the early 2000's promised to be a father figure to Victor Asuzu. He told the young man he still has one dad who is alive. He said:
This is Ernest Asuzu Only Child
He came home with me. You still got one dad alive"
Apart from promising to play the role of a father in the life of Victor Asuzu, Digidi DunHill also told the young man it was time for him to rise and that he will always have his back. He said :
"Victor as you dad El Cream bows out, you must rise. Got you son"
To be honest, Victor Asuzu and his late dad share a striking resemblance. Whether he chooses to venture into Nollywood or another career I am sure Victor will become great. May the gentle soul of Ernest Asuzu rest peacefully.
