Popular MTV show host, Nick Cannon was fired from his Wild N Out hosting job on July 15, 2020 by ViacomCBS and here is why.
In an episode of his podcast on YouTube, Cannon while in a conversation with rapper Professor Griff, asserted the truth of a number of conspiracy theories in the episode, referencing “the Rothschilds, centralized banking, the 13 families, the bloodlines that control everything even outside of America.”
Nick Cannon was asked to apologize for promoting hate speech and spreading anti-semitic controversies but he refused to do so.
He insisted that the conversation was not hateful, because “Semitic people are black people.” “You can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people,” he said. He also voiced admiration for Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.
His employers, ViacomCBS responded to the controversy in a statement announcing that they have “terminated” their relationship with Cannon.
“While we support ongoing education and dialogue in the fight against bigotry, we are deeply troubled that Nick has failed to acknowledge or apologize for perpetuating anti-Semitism, and we are terminating our relationship with him,” the statement said.
Nick Cannon has had a longstanding relationship with ViacomCBS, including hosting shows on Nickelodeon and MTV like Wild ‘N Out, which he has hosted for over 15 years and Lip Sync Battle Shorties.
