Exit Of An Icon: Angelique Kidjo Sent Her Condolences To The US Congressman, John Lewis
Today America mourn the loss of a great icon and congressman, John Lewis.
John Lewis was reported dead on Friday, he died at the age of 80.
The African-American icon marched with Martin Luther King Jnr. He has been beaten and arrested so many times for fighting and protesting for human rights.
A popular South Africa Singer and a Grammy award winner, Angelique Kidjo mourned and sent a condolence message to the late Congressman John Lewis on her social media handle.
She wrote:
"RIP, John Lewis. I'm proud to have met you at the opening of the @nmaahc. You led Civil Right for 60 years! Your persistence and passion is an inspiration for us all."

In 2019, John Lewis was diagnosed with Stage four Pancreatic cancer. The great legend was known to be a fighter, who always fought against racial injustice.
He has been given an award (Medal of Freedom) from Obama in 2011
