Seun Kuti has made it known that his father which is Fela Anikulapo Kuti and Bob Marley are the two greatest musicians in black music and the two have things in common, they never won a single award during their lifetime according to Seun Kuti.
Seun Kuti said this because of those who are claiming that musicians can be rated on how good they are through their streams and awards.
He said there’s no best musician as you can’t measure greatness with awards or streams, according to him he said awards and streams are just the acts of capitalist and not the through nature of music.
So for him he believes that every musician is going on his own field and that it pains him when they call someone a good musician or the best musician and the fellow can’t handle one single musical instrument, he said that’s what the media has turned the Music Industry into, because they want to create unnecessary competition among the musicians.
