Fans have long been anticipating Wizkid's promised new album hence it came as great joy when the iconic singer finally released his new album titled "made in lagos"
Since it is still relatively new, there are hardly reviews from top music charts as to how well the songs are doing but knowing and trusting the musical genius that Wizkid is, there is no iota of doubt that his songs are going to be iconic.
The point of this post however is to point out why the 30-year old afro-urban sound guru won't be promoting his new album (opinion)
As we all know, musicians make most of their money, not just from streaming or CDs (which no one buys anymore).
Artistes rather make their money from promoting their music by going on live shows, selling concert tickets and even travelling countries on tour to promote their record.
The reason why Wizkid is however not likely to do this is because as we all know, the current world wide pandemic is one that has caused measures such as social distancing and avoiding of crowds to be in place.
As a matter of fact, flights in most countries have been put on hold apart from essential flight services.
Hence Wizkid being smart is most likely to not want to go on tour for his new album as this will be breaking a lot of guidelines.
With these restrictions in place, it's quite obvious that a lot that has to do with the promotion of his album might be on hold.
But I doubt it will reduce the intensity of how viral the songs will go because let's face it. Good music, publicizes itself.
And if it's Wizkid's music we are talking about, then it certainly is good music.
