Jumoke Odetola is a popular Yoruba Nollywood actress. She started with Omotola Jalade Ekeinde. As a young girl she watched the movie titled Motor Inheritance and fell in love with this movie so much. She watched the movie like 100 times or more then she now paying attention to Omotola Jalade. Any movie that feature Omotola she would watch it then and would think to herself that she can do what Omotola Jalade was doing. Then she started nursing the ambition secretly because of the type of home she came from. She did not want to say it openly that she aspires to be an actress. Her father children would rather go up to be engineers, medical practitioners or financial managers just like most Nigerian homes. Her father managed to influence all her elderly ones to be what he wanted them to be. But because Jumoke is the last child of the family she believed that at that stage one child out of the rest can be excused . Later on Jumoke Odetola started making enquires about drama school specifically Royal art academy. It was during this enquires that she bond into someone who advised her to try a training outfit that was closer to her house.
This friend introduced her to Prodigy and Pens communication a film production outfit, with the department for training and improving actors, productin manager, writers and directors.she started her movie career in the nollywood English scene before moving to yoruba scene. One of the reasons producers and other actors like to work with her is because she interpret her script very well. And when it comes to performances she is very talented. She would have been an IT experts if she was not an actress because that was actually what she studied at school. She did computer science with information and communication technology for her first degree. And for her master she did computer science and she was supposed to go to Europe and further her studies then practise. The first movie she featured in was Heros and zeros which was directed by Niji Akunni. She played the role of a crime journalist , it was after this that she went for her NYSC in Abia state. It was not until 2013 that she resumed back fully into acting.
She however came into the Limelight with a Yoruba movie titled Binta Ofege. Also Jumoke Odetola career got a boost after she won two awards. Her opinion on controversies. Jumoke Odetola believes that a stat life doesn't have to be about Controversies. And she says that we can all live our lives decently, professionally and with hardwork we will make it to the top.
