The sixth season of Big Brother Naija has come to an end, and Tega Dominic was arguably one of the most popular female housemates this season. Her popularity grew as a result of some of her actions on the show. From her revealing clothes to her affair with Boma, she was strongly criticized even after she was evicted.
Tega Dominic deactivated her Instagram account a few hours ago, much to the surprise of many, because everything appeared to be back on track between her, husband, relatives, and fans after she issued an apology for her inappropriate behavior while on the reality show.
Many people have been wondering why Tega deleted her Instagram account. Rumors are spreading that she is depressed, which is untrue. Here are three reasons, in this writer's opinion, why the former Big Brother housemate deleted her Instagram account.
1. To Take A Break From The Insults
Despite her apology, Tega has been constantly judged, trolled, and called derogatory names by many people. Staying away from social media will make her less vulnerable to such demeaning insults, leaving her happier and more focused on her career.
2. To Stay Away From Unhealthy Competition
With the end of BBN Season 6, many housemates will be competing against each other to see who has the most endorsement deals and accomplishments. Tega may have deleted her Instagram account because she does not want to engage in unhealthy competition with anyone or be constantly compared to other female housemates.
2. To Rekindle Her Marriage's Love
Nobody is perfect, and Tega admitted that she went too far with Boma, but many people continued to criticize her and her husband for returning to her. Tega is going through a difficult period in her life, and avoiding social media is the best way for her to enjoy her marriage while also building her self-esteem.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Nigerians will ever forgive Tega for her past mistakes?
