Today's Headlines: Why I Featured Davido, Ice Prince - Holmes, Nollywood Producer Arrested With Guns

Budding singer, Umughare Prosper, aka Holmes, may not have been in the music industry for a long time but he has started ‘rolling’ with the big boys in the industry. He featured Davido, Ice Prince and other sensational artistes in his forthcoming Extended Play album, HolmesSzn.

The singer noted that he featured Davido and Ice Prince because he admired their music. He said, “I decided to feature Davido and Ice Prince because I have admired their music over the years. I also know that their imprints on the songs I made with them will appeal to fans. I believe I have what it takes to have a successful career.”

The afro-fusion singer also stated that together with his record label, D’luxe Management, a lot of thought went into selecting the songs that made it to the EP. He said, “I spend a lot of time in the studio, so I am constantly recording songs. I sat down with my label executives and we painstakingly picked the songs that were eventually included in the EP. Some of the songs on the EP are Love(featuring Davido), Money (featuring Ice Prince) and Finally.”

Nollywood producer Arrested With Guns In Delta State

Operatives of the Police Rapid Response Squad (RRS), on patrol, have arrested a Nollywood star, Mike Omoruyi, with guns in Delta State.

The police arrested Omoruyi, 37, with guns in his vehicle along Obiaruku/Umuebu Community in Delta State.

Also arrested for the same offence was an alleged gun runner, Chief Otuya Josiah.

One Lar rifle without magazine, one fabricated AK-47 rifle, one air rifle, one pump action, one English double barrel gun and two toy guns were recovered from Omoruyi.

Mixed Reactions As The 2021 UTME Jamb Commences

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Saturday commenced the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) across the country, with first batch of candidates sitting for the Computer Based Test (CBT) examination.

According to JAMB, over 1.3 million candidates successfully registered in the examination that is expected to will run till 3rd July, 2021.

They are concerns over some candidates who could not successfully complete their registration exercise early due to the challenges of National Identification Number (NIN) which was made compulsory for the 2021 registration.

2 Members Of APC Suspended Alleged Link With Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress,(APC) Ekiti State chapter, has again suspended two members of the party over alleged links with the presidential aspiration of the national leader of the party Asiwaju Bola Tinubu

The suspended APC members are Kayode Adetifa and Jide Oso, of Ward 9, Owaye quarters in Ayede Ekiti, Oye local government area of the state.

The duo were suspended for allegedly fraternising with the South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA), a political platform canvassing for the Presidential aspiration of the former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This came about two months after the APC Chairman of Ward 8, Ado Ekiti local government, Mr. Clement Afolabi, was slammed with suspension over similar offences
