In it's annual awards to individuals and groups efforts in making this world a better place. The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the 2020 Nobel Peace prize to the World Food Programme (WFP).
This was done, quoting them verbatim, "for it's efforts to combat hunger, for it's contribution to bettering conditions for peace in conflict affected areas and for acting as a driving force in efforts to prevent the of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict."
Every year, I look forward to this awards expecting a Nigerian to be awarded in either literature or for peace. This is because we are hard working people as every other person in the world is. But that by the way, this award to WFP is really in the right direction considering what this year has already presented to all.
The world is a place where hunger exists, but the fact is that no one should go to bed with an empty stomach. Nigeria is blessed with arable lands that food should be affordable to all. But as it's, better days lie ahead for the whole world and Nigeria.
