The arrest of veteran actor Chiwetalu Agu, by the Nigerian Army over him wearing an outfit that is associated with IPOB is an event that has caused a lot of mixed reactions from many Nigerians who felt his arrest good no water, and therefore pushed for his release, as they air their grievances over his arrest, now with the popular actor getting released, many people still can't decipher while he was released early and didn't spend much time in the Nigerian Army custody, but his release might have been necessitated by some of these following factor.
His Age: Chiwetalu Agu is one man that is old and is 65 years of age, if he is kept under custody might not be the ideal thing to do for the Nigerian Army who must have viewed him as an aged who shouldn't be kept under the stress of arrest.
His Celebrity Status: the Nigerian Army knowing that Chiwetalu Agu is a celebrity understands that keeping him in custody is bound to generate a lot of controversy, and knowing what transpired during the END SARS saga knows better than not let situation of a thing metamorphosed into another chaos.
How he defended himself: in the video that was circulated about Chiwetalu Agu's arrest, he was quoted to have said that he wasn't wearing the Biafran flag, as he was just wearing a cloth that seem similar to the Biafran Flag with the image of a rising sun label on it.
Celebrities speaking out for his release: during the time of the veteran actors arrest many movie actors such as Emeka Ike, Destiny Etiko, Walter Anga and a host of others had used their platforms to condemn the arrest which they opine is biased.
While the release of the popular actor speaks volumes, no precise information was given on what has led to the Army releasing him earlier than expected, as any of the following reasons could have been a determining point leading to his release.
