Boseman Chadwick's tweet sets new record hours after his death

As the world mourns the demise of an African hero, many have expressed their deepest condolences to one of Africa's greatest actors of all time on various social media platforms, with many touching words. Indeed his legacy wasn't only to the Black race but across the globe.

Twitter confirmed this new record (via Deadline) that the late Chadwick Boseman’s last post on it's social platform, the news of his death by his family, is the “most liked tweet ever.”

The Black panther-wakanda star’s obituary post had 7.7 million likes as of the afternoon of August 29th.

Boseman died of colon cancer at 43 on August 28th after a four-year fight against the disease, after cancer had advanced from stage iii to stage iv.

The news steered an outpouring of grief and sympathy, including likes and retweets from friends, families, fellow actors of the movie- black panther, celebrities and groups like Dwayne Johnson, The Academy and the NAACP.

Some of his last projects were for Netflix, including the yet-to-premiere Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.
