Meet Top Popular Nollywood Actor That Was Arrested And Jailed For Cocaine Trafficking (Photos)

Nigerian actress Taiwo Akinwande popularly known as Yetunde Wunmi is one of the most notable actresses in the Yoruba movie industry. Wunmi is a well-known Nigerian film and television actress. She is of Yoruba ethnicity. Her career began in the 1980s with appearances in the soap opera Feyi Kogbon. She has had leading roles in over 50 videos. Yetunde has been one of the most consistent actors in the Nollywood industry and her impacts in movies can't be overlooked. I have seen her play different unrelated roles in movies and she played those roles perfectly.

Yetunde was born 22nd of February 1960, and she is married with grown-up children although she is no longer together with her husband.

2006 was said to be a devastating year for Yetunde, as she was said to be arrested for trafficking of the hard drug "cocaine". In an interview, Wunmi confessed that the drug incident is her only regret in life. It was on September 19, 2006, she was about to travel to the United Kingdom. When she got to Muritala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, she was🙂arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced her to three years imprisonment after she admitted guilty of carrying out the act, she ended up serving just two years.

It was a sad experience for her but she already learned her lesson. She continued by saying the incident really exposed her to some basis of life, during her travails, she learned lessons about the ups and downs of life.

After she left prison, she still continues to do what she loves most, which is acting. She revealed it wasn't easy at first because some of her colleagues despised her will some show her love and stood by her at that point in time.

The light-complexioned actress has appeared in so many movies that she has even lost count. These include ‘Odun Mejo’, ‘Opa Ajobi, ‘Ade Ori’, ‘Omo Okunrin’, ‘Jawonlaya’, ‘Oro Omo Le’, ‘Aje Niyonu’, ‘Egbogi Oloro’, ‘Ori OIowo L’ori Mi’ and so many others and as a result, it made her work with almost all the greatest actors in the Yoruba movie industry.
