As a saying, Being rewarded is a form of morale booster, and when you are not appreciated, it is quite an unpleasant situation.
In Nollywood Movie Industry, it has been become a norm for celebrities to receive awards for their exceptional performances. This is a form of recognition that you are impacting the society positively with your acting skills and producing good movies to the delight of Nollywood fans.
However, some celebrities have overtime complained about partiality by the organizers of such awards as they give the awards to those they are familiar with and not following due protocols and criteria for the Awards. In a recent post, popular Actress Ruth Kadiri has called out her colleague and movie producer, Mo Abudu, Lagos State Government and Eko Star Film and TV Awards for overlooking her efforts in the Nollywood movie industry.
Eko Star Film and TV Awards organized her maiden award-giving ceremony to recognise top women in the movie industry on Monday, April 12, 2021. This award event was in partnership with Lagos State Ministry of Culture, Arts and Tourism and Nigerian International Film Summit(NIFS) and many female celebrities such as Toyin Abraham, Sola Sobowale, Kate Henshaw, to mention a few, were celebrated at the event. However, Ruth Kadiri was not invited for the award ceremony which made her to feel not appreciated despite her contributions into the film industry. Check out her post below:
