Why Donnie McClurkin Shouldn't Have Opened Up On His Battle Over Homosexuality

There has been a few reactions around the internets regarding Donnie McClurkin open confession on his battle over homosexuality. Quite a tough one!

While many people have gone ahead to criticise him considering the fact that he is a gospel singer, others have applauded him for being sincere, regardless of his religion.

Recall that the top selling American artist and minister has recently acknowledged to the fact that he is battling with homosexuality, after he was molested by his uncle from a very young age several times.

In my opinion, I would say that there is nothing courageous about his actions, neither should he be criticised for battling over homosexuality either.

Wondering why?

The reason is that, no Christain is truly free from sin or rather every Christain is battling with one thing or more. Even the book of Romans 3:10 clearly states that "None is righteous, no not one." You can imagine!

If i am to ask! Should every Christain, especially the famous ones start bringing their personal struggles to the public?

Don't forget that God encourages us to confess our sins to him, as he is faithful and just to forgive according to 1 John 1:9.

Similarly, bringing your struggles to social media will not in anyway help anybody.

Instead it will attract criticism that might likely lead a person to suicide, depression, regrets and more.

We can attest to the fact that majority of Nigerians, particularly celebrities that has brought their challenges or even success on social media ended up with trolls.

A typical example is FFK and his ex-wife, Precious Chikwendu's marriage controversies and lots more.

Generally speaking, tackling challenges by praying to God and as well seeking help from experts or genuine spiritual leaders is the best approach to most personal battles.
