Nollywood entertainment industry has really come a long way, and has also produced successful actors and actresses with lots of awards to their credit. Then, beside acting, there are Nollywood stars whom we are oblivious of their occupation or field of study.
In this article, I selected 4 Nollywood actors who are also university lecturers.
1. Sam Dede: Sam Dedetoku is a veteran Nollywood actor, director and politician who is well known for taking action roles in movies. The award-winning Sam Dede is known for many movies, especially for his role in the block buster movie, Issakaba. His other movies include; Igodo, Last Burial, In My Country etc.
Apart from being a professional actor, Sam Dede is a lecturer in the Theater Art department of University of Port Harcourt. There, he lectures prospective actors.
2. Hafiz Oyetoro: Hafiz Oyetoro is not a stranger in the movie industry. He is a comedian and Nollywood actor who is known for his comic roles in movies. Hafiz Oyetoro has featured in quite a number of movies like; London Fever, The Wedding Party, Small Chops, Ojukokoro etc.
Until now, I never knew that this Nollywood actor is a lecturer in the department of theatre art at Adeniran Ogunsanya College Of Education, Lagos State.
3. Obi Okoli: Obi Okoli aka Obi Idejimba is another actor whom you may not know is also a university lecturer. He was a broadcaster, newscaster and producer on NTA Aba from 1981-1999. Obi Okoli is the CEO and founder of Idejimba films. In 2011, he joined the University of Nigeria Nsukka as a lecturer in the theater arts department.
4. Sola Fosudo: Prof. Sola Fosudo is a veteran Nollywood actor, writer and movie director, who had featured in several Soap operas, movies and stage performances. He featured in the debut movie, Glamour Girls. Prof. Sola Fosudo lectures at Lagos State University and also the H.O.D in the theatre art department of Lagos State University. His other movies are; True Confession, Rituals, Strange Ordeal etc.
You probably didn't know that these 4 are actors cum lecturers.
