On Sunday the 5th of September, 2021. The Nigerian Yoruba actress, Toyin Abraham, hosted a double-packed party in which she celebrated her birthday and, at the same time, premiered her new movie, titled "The Ghost And The Tout Too."
Several dignitaries from every area of life were present at the event. Celebrities from the Nigerian entertainment field, clergymen, and several businessmen and women were at the event.
The musician that played was King Sunny Ade, who is popularly known as KSA.
The party was a remarkable one as the guests were happy to dance happily at the event, which was described as a colorful event.
However, something happened at the event which jarred the sensibilities of several Nigerians, and it was about the time that Toyin Abraham handled a mic to address the people who were at the event.
While she was doing that, she turned swiftly to pray for KSA on her kneel and she was heard saying: "Daddy, I started listening to your songs when I was a little girl and till now am still listening to your songs. Though I may be a little girl, I'm praying for you with all my heart that you will live long because, as you've come, you have added to fame and stardom. "
During the prayer, KSA quickly removes his cap and listens to her while saying amen continuously.
That is what has caused many reactions from Nigerians that KSA has honored Toyin Abraham for bowing to her.
This is where what I wish to correct comes in because people are saying KSA has belittled himself by bowing down to Toyin Abraham. KSA was right in the sense that the prayer offered by Toyin Abraham was directed at God, thus KSA bowed to God at the mention of God's name and not to Toyin Abraham.
Again, the Yoruba people believed that a man must remove his cap by the time he wanted to enter the church to honor God.
That is what KSA portrayed at the event and not that he was bowing to Toyin Abraham.
