Who Remembers "D1" Adeneye Of Kennis Music? Meet His Wives, Children And Also See His New Looks

If you don't know Dayo Adeneye of the Kennis Music then you are yet to be a good student of hip-hop history in Nigeria.

Dayo Adeneye is a man whose voice is so sweet to hear. His voice is calm and charming, no wonder ladies literally woo him everywhere he goes. Thank God he is not this kind of person that runs after anything on a skirt.

D1 Adeneye was formerly based abroad before moving down to Nigeria where he got his broadcasting job in Raypower. After he started out as an employee in the Radio station, at a point, the radio station management could not afford to pay them for 7 months, at this time he was so broke such that his first wife has to leave him and travel back abroad to begin a new life.

This is Dayo, his first wife and first child (Jazmyne).

After this, he had to sell his 4 cars leaving 1 for himself to move around. However, He got his break when Ben Bruce owner of Silver Bird told him and Kenny Ogungbe to come on his station for their “Primetime Jamz.”

The response they got from the outcome of the program on Ben Bruce station was so rewarding such that Dayo got his break in a massive way.

Consequently, Kennis Music was also at that time doing well, Dayo and Kenny owners of the record label have the biggest artistes in Nigeria as at then on their platform.

Artistes like Tony Tetuila, 2 Baba, Eedris Abdulkareem, Paul Play and many more were with the Kennis Music Record label. 2 Baba (Tuface Idibia) was the highest-paid artiste as at that time and Kennis Music charges 50,000 naira for any function he was being invited to sing.

Note, this charge per show was in the 1990s at this time Fela Anikulapokuti was still alive, Fela was charging 25,000 naira per show. For those who weren't born during that era let me simplify.

During this period, naira was still of high value and Fela was an international singer who was known beyond Africa. If he as an International singer was charging 25,000 naira as at then, that means 50,000 naira on every invite paid to have Tuface was a very good and juicy deal.

After the mother of Jazmyne left him, Dayo Adeneye remarried. D1 got married to his second wife Caroline who was introduced to him by his father. They have been blessed with three lovely children.

Check out some stunning pictures of his lovely family below.
