Obafemi Awolowo University, commonly abbreviated as OAU, is a federal government owned and operated Nigerian university. It was established in 1962 as the University of Ife, Osun State. In 1987, it was renamed Obafemi Awolowo University in honour of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, one of the university’s founding fathers and eminent lawyer, nationalist, and politician.
The university is organised into 13 faculties, which offer a range of undergraduate courses. There is also the postgraduate college and the College of Health Sciences. The university has a number of institutes including the Institute of Cultural Studies, Institute of Agricultural Research and Training, and Institute of Public Health.

1. Steph-Nora Okere
Steph-Nora Okere is a Nigerian actress and script writer who was awarded the Special Recognition Award at the City People Entertainment Awards In 2016. Okere in 2015 became the Vice President of the Script Writers Guild of Nigeria (SWGN).
Okere was born in Owerri which is Imo State’s capital a southeastern geographical area of Nigeria occupied mainly by the Igbo people of Nigeria. At a young age she migrated to Lagos state in southwest Nigeria and received her basic education in St Paul Primary School located in Ebute Metta where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate. Okere moved back to her state of origin to receive secondary education. Okere obtained her West African Senior School Certificate in Akwakuma Secondary School located in Imo State. Okere obtained her B.Sc. degree in Theatre Arts from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife.
Okere before her debut into the Nigerian movie industry known commonly as Nollywood was a stage actress and debuted for the first time in the Nigerian movie Industry in 1994 at the age of 21.
Okere won the Special Recognition Award at City People Entertainment Awards in 2016.
Okere has spoken publicly about her admiration for her colleague Jim Iyke. Okere although being Igbo can speak the Yoruba language fluently.
2. Omotola Jalade
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Omosexy as she is popularly called, is a Nigerian actress, singer, philanthropist, and former model. She was born on February 7, 1978 in Lagos to Mr Oluwashola and Mrs Oluwatoyin Jalade. She however hails from Ondo state, Nigeria.
She started her education at Chrisland school, Opebi and finished her primary education at Oxford Children School. For her secondary education, she attended Santos Layout and Command Secondary School, Kaduna. She went on to attend Obafemi Awolowo University but then completed her studies at Yaba College of Technology where she studied Estate Management.
While growing up, her dream was to work in a business establishment. However, while awaiting admission, she ventured into modelling. One day, she accompanied a friend to a movie audition and luckily, got herself a role. That was how she got into the movie industry and fist featured in the movie, Venom of Justice. Her first big role however came when she starred in the movie, Mortal Inheritance where she acted as a sickle cell patient who fought for her life despite the odds of survival. In 2010, she had her first cinematic movie role in the film, Ije, where she starred alongside Genevieve Nnaji.
Since 1995 when she got into the movie industry, she has acted in over 100 movies to mention but a few: Scores to Settle, Lost Kingdom, The Outsider, Blood Sisters, Die Another Day, Games Women Play, Brave Heart, Sand in my Shoes, Yankee Girls, My Last Ambition, A Private Storm, Ties That Bind, Last Flight to Abuja, My Only Inheritance, Alter Ego etc.

4. Ariyike Lawal-Akinbobola
Ariyike Lawal-Akinbobola was born at St. Nicholas hospital in Lagos, Nigeria, on April 25th, 1982, to an economist, Mojeed Adewale, and a pharmacist, Ladun Lawal. She is a lawyer, TV host, compere, writer, content creator, and an occasional actress.
Ariyike grew up in Lagos where she attended Federal Home Science Primary School, Ikoyi. She was a member of the Brownies Society and when she got into high school at Queen’s College, Lagos.
She was a constant face on stage at variety shows and school award ceremonies. Due to her jovial and friendly nature, she won the award for ‘Miss Friendly’ for her class, during their class of 1998 final year award night.
