Over the span of his career, Wizkid has on several occasions infused Fela's lyrics, sound and fashion into his personal art yielding successful results.
Following Fela's nomination for a chance to get inducted into the prestigious Rock Hall of fame, several artists such as Don Jazzy, Davido and Burnaboy with millions of social media reach have come out to solicit for votes for the legend alongside influencers. These efforts succeeded in taking Fela all the way from the bottom to the top of the list.
However with 29 days more left for voting, the competition with American queen of soul singer Tina Turner is at it's tightest, earlier today she surpassed Fela becoming number one on the list. Fortunately however, Wizkid's overdue post came just in time. Taking to his Twitter page, he thanked Nigerians for their votes so far and urged them to not relent just yet.
In less than hour, by influence of Wizkid Fela was back in the rightful lead over Tina.
