He rose to prominence after releasing his country-rap single "Old Town Road" which first achieved viral popularity in early 2019 before climbing music charts internationally and becoming diamond certified by November 2019.

Rema rose to prominence with the release of the song "Dumebi" and "Iron man" which appeared on Barack Obama's 2019 summer playlist.
