If there is any musician that so much desire seeing political juggernaut, and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, become the next President of Nigeria, after President Muhammadu Buhari, it is definitely the King of Fuji music, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe Marshal, better known as K1. Like some of the followers of Tinubu would call themselves, "Tinubuists", K1 can be said to be a "Tinubuist" to the core. And the Mayegun of Yoruba Land as K1 is also known, has never hidden his love for the former two term Governor of Lagos State, Tinubu, any day, any where.

The strong bond between K1 and Tinubu has been there, and known by many, since the days of Tinubu as the number one citizen of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007. And the closeness between them has kept waxing stronger that K1, at a point stopped being just an artiste being engaged by the APC for their political campaigns and social functions, to becoming a card carrying member of the party. And as Nigeria journeys towards 2023 Presidential Election with the odds favouring the zoning of the Presidential Ticket of APC to the South-West, and Tinubu being in the pole position to clinch the ticket, K1 has never hidden his excitement towards seeing Tinubu become the next Nigeria's President.

In fact, during some of his performances of recent, K1 would render some songs that when 2023 finally arrives, and Tinubu gets what he wants in Abuja, people would then see the level his own music career would attain by that time . Meanwhile, by all standards, K1's career has already attained a standard that only very few musicians in Nigeria have been able to get to, in terms of fame and fortune. As it is, K1 is no longer just an artiste, but also a business man who is into hospitality venture with his recently opened Mayegun Royal Resort in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, including farming and bakery businesses, to name a few.

And beyond that, K1 has also become one of the strong forces to reckon with, on the political scene in Lagos State. Remember, his Manager, Hon. Bayo Olasoju has recently been elected as a Council Chairman in Lagos State through the influence of the Fuji music legend himself. Hon. Olasoju is now the Executive Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA). So, what more can an artiste cum politician ask for, that K1 is not getting, largely already, due his close relationship with the Jagaban Borgu, as Tinubu is also known? Without any shred of doubt, K1's Manager becoming a Council Chairman in a state like Lagos, is a big deal, no matter how you look at it.

Meanwhile, with Tinubu becoming the President in 2023, things can only get better for K1. And one significant thing that may be happening to his music career by then, is something that has only happened to the career of just one Fuji artiste before. And unfortunately, the Fuji artiste is now late. That is the Fuji music creator himself, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, who happened to be K1's mentor and role model, in his life time. In 2006, former President Olusegun Obasanjo bestowed a National Honour of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) on Barrister for his musical excellence. And, he became the first Fuji music artiste to be so honoured.

So, with a Tinubu Presidency, K1 stands the golden chance of becoming the next Fuji artiste to get a National Honour, like Barrister did. Hence, beyond other perks of politics that might be coming K1's way if fate makes Tinubu emerge Nigeria's President is that, a National Honour may not be too far from his already successful music career.
