The story of the Nigerian female gospel musician who was born blind and received what is nothing short of a miracle to be able to see, when she was only an infant baby has to be one of the most inspiring stories in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
This gospel artist is Chidinma Ekile. Many don't know this, but when she was born on the second day of May 1991, she was born blind. Her blindness lasted for a couple of months leaving her parents very worried, especially her mother.
As a mother, nothing compares to the pain of watching your baby suffer and knowing that there's absolutely nothing you can do to change the situation other than pray for a miracle.
But because destiny can only be delayed, it can never be denied, Chidinma got her miracle. God really shined his light on the little girl. She got her sight and ever since then, her path to success has been backed by someone really mighty, God.
Blessed with an amazing voice, Chidinma started singing when she was 6 years old and by the age of 10, she joined the choir in her church.
As she grew into a lady, knowing she had the talent to sing, she never really took music serious until she decided to give it a try when she applied for the third edition of MTN project fame. She made it into the music competition and with God on her side, she won it.
Fame and popularity ensued, She was regarded as the next big thing in the Nigerian secular music world. Those predictions turned out to be true as she became a house hold name in that industry for years, releasing popular songs like "Emi ni baller" and “Kedike”.
But for someone with a story like hers, is secular music really what she was meant to be doing? Was that where she belonged?
This is why, when she took a long break from music and reappeared in 2021, stating that she regretted doing secular music and she was ready to switch to being a gospel singer, it was great to hear. She then released a gospel album titled “Jehovah over do” on the second of May, 2021.
Everything about this amazing gospel singer from the day she was born blind to the day she got her sight, and every single day she has lived leading up to where she is today as a gospel singer of God, one thing that can be said about it all is that, Jehovah really did over-do for her.
