The arrest drew mixed reactions from Nigerians. Many people condemned the Nigerian Army for manhandling Agu and arresting him. Others also blamed the actor for his own action. Well, as the argument and reactions rage, it will be good to consider the issue in comparison with what happened when Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe wore Dot Nation T-shirt which also made serious headlines and attracted massive reactions. Abaribe wore the Dot Nation T-shirt after President Muhammadu Buhari in his speech said that Biafra cannot be achieved because it is like a ''Dot in a circle'' which cannot go anywhere.

Why was Agu arrested but Abaribe was not apprehended?
This will be the question on the lips of many Nigerians. Some will say that it is because Abaribe is a more powerful And influential politician while Agu is not. Anyway, that is a factor to reckon with too because it matters in the scheme of things. But there other key reasons that led to the arrest of Agu and made Abarabe's case different.

First, Agu was wearing IPOB's full outfit unlike Abaribe. IPOB is a proscribed group. In fact, after it was proscribed many of its members do not even wear the IPOB's outfit. Its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, used to wear the outfit whenever he was going out. But, pictures that emerged after his arrest in Kenya showed that he was not wearing the outfit. Many other people do not wear it like before. Abaribe was not wearing the IPOB outfit like Agu. This is why Agu was arrested.

Second, Agu wore the IPOB outfit in public which was a way of daring the Nigerian authorities. If Agu had worn it in his house or in private place, that would have been different. But, he wore in public to see what would happen. He was then arrested by soldiers. Abaribe has never worn IPOB's full regalia in public because he knows the consequences especially after the group was proscribed. Even the Dot Nation T-shirt he wore, he was not seen live wearing it in public. He only posted it on is social media handle. He should have worn it to the Senate session and see what would happen. He should have tried wearing IPOB's outfit in public like Agu. He knows that he would also be arrested if he tries that.

Finally, while IPOB is proscribed, Dot Nation is not proscribed. Does it even exist? It was just a trend that went viral after Buhari's speech. Abaribe then made it even more trendy by wearing the T-shirt and some people associate it with Biafra. Well, it is not an entity and no group bears the name Dot Nation. Based on the points above, it is wrong to compare Agu's case with that of Abaribe as some people ask why the Senator was not arrested like the actor.
