Recently, Enwerem shared a disturbing incident that occurred during voting in his polling unit. According to him, some thugs arrived at the polling unit and scattered the ballot boxes while the police officers stood by and watched. Enwerem posted a video of the incident on his Twitter page and explained that they had been voting peacefully until INEC polling officers suddenly informed them that the server was down and they could no longer vote. A few minutes later, the thugs arrived and caused chaos.
Despite efforts to continue the voting process, the polling officers changed outfits and attempted to leave. However, the thugs returned with police escorts and chased everyone away while shouting, "Omo Igbo wants to take over Lagos." This incident highlights the challenges of conducting free and fair elections in Nigeria and the need for urgent action to address electoral violence.
