Samuel Oguachuba a.k.a Samklef is a Nigerian recording artiste famous for his song ‘Noni’ which was a major hit in the country. Nigerian politics is a touchy subject to engage in depending on which side of the divide you belong to especially as the economy appears not to be improving. Samklef in his wisdom thought a comparison would be justified between the current and the immediate government. Unfortunately, the point he was making was lost as he completely misfired based on information in the post. Sadly twitter street’s is unforgiving.
It is of course within he’s right to express his opinion about subjects he feels grieved about. What is not right is when an attempt is made to falsely communicate the wrong information. It could be an innocent mistake on his part not being fully informed about or up to date with the happenings around him. Samklef is not an ordinary individual. He is/was a famous recording artiste; he has a voice and followership. Hence, he has to demonstrate a duty of care in the manner of using social media to express his likes or dislikes.
Samklef is credited with producing several songs from Wizkid’s breakthrough album ‘Superstar’. Samklef had previously expressed bitterness at Wizkid for his non recognition of his contribution to his success on the global stage. In an interview published by Punch Newspapers Samklef stated that
“I am part of Wizkid’s history whether he likes it or not and he cannot write his story without mentioning my name. I have always respected Wizkid’s hustle from day one. He has a strong will. So far so good, we have settled the misunderstanding beween us in 2015 after one of my trips from America. We are all busy now, so I am no longer worried about whatever people say because at the end of the day, we all have our journey in life and success is the most important thing. I a no longer bitter at Wizkid, thee past is gone”.
At the time of publishing this he is yet to retract or make corrections to the post.
