1. Burna Boy
Nigerian Grammy Award winner, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu who is popularly known by his stage name as Burna Boy, is one of the Nigerian celebrities who used to be a boxer before he ventured into music.
The singer, in a Zoom call conversation with Israel Adesanya, disclosed that if he hadn't ventured into music, he would have been a professional boxer by now.
2. Taiwo Hassan
Yoruba veteran actor, Taiwo Hassan also known as Ogogo, is another Nigerian celebrity who used to be a boxer. The actor, in an interview with Punch News, disclosed that the reason why he looks younger than his age is because he is a boxer, although doesn't engage in fights.
According to the actor, he only boxes in his house to keep his body in shape.
3. John Okafor
Lastly, another Nigerian celebrity who used to be a boxer before he became famous is none other than comic actor, John Okafor, who is popularly known as Mr Ibu.
The actor, In an interview with PUNCH NEWSPAPERS, disclosed that he was doing well as a boxer before he ventured into Nollywood. According to him, he even went for a championship fight in Delta State where he was beaten mercilessly and lost an eye in the process. Following this horrible experience, the actor allegedly quit boxing.
